Friendly people and a comfortable cozy bed to get a few Z's in between my work schedule. The house is beautiful and the staff are very accommodating.
We stayed at the Victorian during out Erie Canal bike ride from Buffalo to Syracuse. The B&B was easy to get to from the intersection of the bike trail and Main Street. It was within walking distance of the business area where there were several establishments available for dinner. We arrived in the late afternoon at the Victorian and although the keepers were out, they left a key for us with good instructions on what to do. There was a garage available for us to store the bikes. The house was very quiet and you have two living room areas available to relax besides your room. Everything was very clean and orderly. We had a great nights sleep and breakfast was available as we arranged promptly at 8:00AM. The breakfast was good and we were able to eat, get packed up and on our way all before 9:00AM. This is definitely a good place to stay and reasonably priced when compared to other B&B's we have stayed in that were not as good and actually cost more. We would return again if in the Brockport area.
I was in town for a campus reading, and the school put me up at The Victorian Bed & Breakfast, and I was utterly, utterly charmed by the place. So much better than a modern hotel, and an outright luxury compared to an Airb&B. I loved all the exquisite rooms in the common areas, the dining room where I had a full breakfast served by Claudia, the housekeeper twice. The sun porch with the fireplace where I sat to prepare for my reading. And my gorgeous, gorgeous blue room facing the street. Wifi was strong. The rooms were comfortable. I could help myself to a glass of water from the kitchen whenever I liked...and I could walk into town or campus with no fuss or muss. It was a wonderful stay and the owners clearly take wonderful care of it. Guests will want to care for it too, as I did. My only regret? That I could not stay longer.
We came to the Victorian on a whim one Friday for bicycling the Erie Canal. Since Victorian décor has become a little passé, we were not sure we would have an "up-to-date property experience" ; however, we were pleasantly surprised. The place is extremely well maintained and pleasant, including the flower beds outside. Everything we needed was available and the location was extremely convenient. We could bike to town, to the canal, etc. The breakfast was good, too!
I would go back to the Victorian Inn in a flash.
I was put up in this bed and breakfast for a work trip, and was very pleased with everything about it. It is cluttered with Victorian-style furniture and knick-knacks which makes it feel very homey. Since it is a modified old house the soundproofing isn't that great, but when I was there it wasn't busy so it wasn't a problem.
The proprietors are very friendly and live on site in an attached set of rooms (the B & B kitchen is their kitchen as well). They are willing to accommodate any dietary needs - just tell them ahead of time so they can purchase the appropriate food for breakfast. Breakfast is served formally in the dining room (on fine china!) at whatever time you request. You are able to make yourself tea whenever you need, and I was able to use the fridge to store some leftovers I had.
I highly recommend spending the extra $15 for the Rose room - the jacuzzi was really nice after a long work day!
